Phil Zayas is going into his seventh season as the men’s head soccer coach at Johnson & Wales University. Since his arrival in 2010 the JWU Men’s Soccer team has seen three appearances in the Sun Conference tournament. In November of 2017 coach Zayas was hired part time by the United States Soccer Federation as a scout for the US National team program. Prior to working as a scout with US Soccer, coach Zayas was the assistant coach for Puerto Ricos womens and youth National teams.   He holds the USSF National B license. He has 12 years of high school and club experience. He was an Assistant Coach at St. Thomas University for three seasons. He also spent three seasons as the head coach at American Heritage-Plantation.  Where he led them to two back to back state championships.  and was named “Dairy Farmer’s Class 3A Coach of the Year” in 2010.  Along with being named the Broward County Coach of the Year twice (2008 and 2009).
